A claim is being made that Brother Russell used a quote from "an evil, spirit power" to endorse his series "Millennial Dawn" in the May 1, 1912 Watchtower. It is reported that the demon said, "Yes; the DAWNS are correct, not only in doctrine, but in chronology as well." Most of the claims regarding what is stated in this issue of the Watch Tower appear to no longer exist online, but the claims are still be presented in some forums and groups. We have found one  who still presents this as though it was meant to approve of the use of ouija boards to contact evil spirits. While it is being shown to be a letter to the editor, it quotes various parts of the letter as though the letter was presented to endorse various the statements in the letter, supposedly to support contact with evil spirits. Many take a quote from Russell's short article, "What is Truth?" and use it to claim that Russell accepted Satan's lies as being truth, and/or that he was supporting the occult, spiritism, etc. Did Russell say that he would accept Satan's lies? Did he say anything that means that he condoned the occult? If one reads actually reads what he said, it becomes apparent that he was not saying such. Indeed, in many of his writings and sermons he often warned of being deceived by Satan's lies and deceptions. One who misrepresents Russell regarding this is John Ankerberg. We are addressing some of the false claims stated in the article, " The Pagan Roots of Jehovah's Witnesses ." Evidently, this has been removed, but similar statements are made in the posting, " The Pagan Roots Of Jehovah’s Witnesses " by GothamCities. A frequently repeated accusation states something like the following: Russell supposedly calculated 1914 from pyramid measurements He allegedly predicted the “end of the world” for 1914 When the prediction “failed,” he supposedly altered the pyramid measurements in later editions of Thy Kingdom Come to cover his tracks This narrative is misleading on several levels. The Alleged “Growing Pyramid” Critics often compare the 1897 edition of Thy Kingdom Come with a later edition (sometimes 1916, 1918, or even 1923) and note that a measurement of 3416 inches was later printed as 3457 inches , claiming the pyramid “grew” 41 inches in 19 years. However, this comparison ignores a crucial fact: The measurement change first appeared in the 1905 edition—nine years before 1914.
